Proudly serving the community for over 160 years, E R Hickmot & Son are as much an integral part of the history of Tunbridge Wells as the Chalybeate Spring. The family run business is now operated by sixth generation Robert Hickmot and offers their clients a professional, dignified and personalised service. Their dedication to the trade is reflected by their membership of the National Association of Funeral Directors which they have held for many years.
Over the decades, the business has seen many changes to the funeral industry and has evolved to meet ever shifting demands, this forward-thinking philosophy prompted Robert to invest in the greener Hybrid range from Coleman Milne when renewing their fleet.
The Norwood Classic Hybrid hearse paired with the Rosedale Hybrid Limousine not only substantially reduces environment harming carbon emissions but also delivers top notch performance coupled with stylish good looks. The Coleman Milne hybrid range is powered by both a conventional fuel engine and a battery-driven, electric motor. The intelligent system automatically switches between the powertrains, or uses a combination of both, to deliver a perfect combination of power and efficiency.
Robert Hickmott explained:
“We set our standards high and delivering a first-class service is paramount to all at E R Hickmott & Son and J Kempster & Sons, our new Ford Hybrid’s are stately in appearance and are a pleasure to drive. Our commitment to the environment is very much part of our ethos, my father installed hot water solar panels in 1983 and then we have had Photovoltaic energy panels installed 3 years ago, it was very suitable that we have the best available practical green fleet, complementing our Classic Rolls Royce vehicles.”
