A funeral co-operative, which is well respected for its commitment to sustainability and effecting a positive contribution in its local communities, has invested in a new environmentally responsible fleet.
With a long history in the industry, Southern Co-op selected Coleman Milne’s environmentally responsible Ford hybrid range for its branches on the Isle of Wight.
The hybrid Norwood hearse and matching Rosedale limousine are designed by Coleman Milne’s in-house engineers to maximise the passenger experience. Built for comfort, these stylish vehicles are also hardworking to meet the varied demands of large funeral groups such as Southern Co-op.
The innovative hybrid technology is self-charging so there’s no need to plug in. The hybrid technology seamlessly switches between petrol or electric mode based on the drive and delivers fuel economy whilst emitting less emissions.
Southern Co-op places its emphasis on offering emotional, practical and social support for the bereaved and their families at its funeral homes spanning Berkshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Surrey, Sussex and Wiltshire.
Matt Turner, Regional Operations Manager at Southern Co-op, said:
“We’re committed to being a sustainable business and also want to support families on the Isle of Wight in the best way possible so we hope this latest upgrade will bring both of these commitments together.
“We’re pleased to have added reliable new additions to our fleet which will lower carbon emissions and also look the part – stylish and different, without losing any of the tradition and etiquette.”
