Coleman Milne Expands Mercedes Range with New 2-Bearer Hearse

Coleman Milne has confirmed a further expansion of its Mercedes 214 hearse range with the introduction of a new 6.2m 2-bearer hearse, adding even greater choice for funeral directors across the UK and Europe.

The new model follows the outstanding success of the 3-bearer Mercedes 214, which launched in October 2024 and has already proven to be extremely popular, with more than 130 vehicles delivered to customers to date.

The 214, 3-bearer model was in-part, developed to fulfill customer need as a result of the outgoing Jaguar XJ, but also offered Funeral Directors a modern, premium marque with exceptional safety characteristics, including Whole Vehicle Type Approval, as well as market leading quality and flexibility.

As part of Coleman Milne’s ongoing commitment to provide the widest possible range of class-leading ceremonial vehicles, it was felt that there was a clear demand for a slightly shorter, 2-bearer alternative.

Sales Manager Stacey Moore commented:

“We have listened carefully to our customers. The 214 3-bearer hearse is without doubt the epitome of form and functionality; however, the need still existed for that same quality standard and prestige marque, on a slightly shorter platform.
The new 2-bearer model allows us to offer the same premium Mercedes product in a more compact format, giving customers even more flexibility without compromising on specification, design or performance.”

The new 2-bearer hearse has been in development since January 2026, with Coleman Milne already building a strong order bank ahead of its official launch at the National Funeral Exhibition, 11th-13th June.

Available in both AMG Line and Exclusive Premium specifications, the new model carries over the same high level of features and options as the 3-bearer variant, including a choice of mild hybrid petrol, mild hybrid diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains.

The introduction of the new model further strengthens Coleman Milne’s commitment to offering the widest range of funeral vehicles in Europe while continuing to respond directly to customer feedback and operational requirements.

“Our aim is to provide the widest choice in Europe,” added Stacey. “This new addition not only reinforces that commitment but also demonstrates just how important customer feedback is to the way we develop our products.”
