To replicate the operational standards of our business, the Coleman Milne and CM Specialist Vehicle Division sites have been redeveloped to the value of £20,000 to offer our customers an improved online experience. Mellor and Woodall Nicholson website redevelopments are scheduled for 2015.

Head Office Reception Refurb
The reception area of our Bolton head office and all customer facing areas of the business have been upgraded with a £50,000 investment to improve the customer experience at front of house.

Acquisition of Bluebird Vehicles
The acquisition of the IP and manufacturing assets of Bluebird Vehicles was an opportunity to integrate the range of Bluebird products into the Mellor portfolio to further enhance our market leading position of the division.

Workshop Flow Line Investment
An investment in the region of £100,000 in the reconfiguration of the production facilities to a flow line process across both Coleman Milne and Mellor have significantly improved efficiency and productivity.

Ongoing Warranty Investment
A new fleet of customer support vehicles and new dedicated field service technician has so far provided on site fixes for over 50% of warranty claims after significant investment of £75,000.

The new range of ceremonial vehicles will compliment and expand the existing range of Coleman Milne products. The £1.5 million investment encourages vehicle development processes in line with other OEM’s from CAD as opposed to reverse engineered.

Investment in on-site parking and security at Head Office
The organic growth of the company has inevitably limited the space on site for vehicle storage and staff parking. As a result, the site layout, security and parking have been reviewed and a project has been outlined with an expected investment of £60,000.

Mellor Electric Vehicles
A £500,00 investment in 2015 saw the development of the first Electric Vehicle from Mellor; the Orion E Launched in the UK at the CV Show and in Europe at Busworld, the Orion E will make our accessible coachbuilt solutions available to city center transport operators who are subject to restrictions on emissions and congestion charges.

Export Project
Woodall Nicholson invested in the region of £300,000 in a research project to identify opportunities overseas, this has brought about the signup of three distributors; Evade based in Germany, Ebus in Holland and BK Invest from Sweden.

The acquisition of Villmount Limited, holding company for Treka Bus, brings another specialist British vehicle manufacturer under the wing of Woodall Nicholson.

£1m investment in Mellor production facility
The site is immediately adjacent to Mellor’s existing Miall Street factory and has now been transformed into one expanded premises, which has given Mellor an additional 15,000 sq ft, effectively doubling the size of the site allowing for increased output for up to 500 vehicles per annum.
