Coleman Milne are delighted to find themselves in a very favourable position with a healthy order book that stretches positively into 2019. This is testament to the dedication of the Sales team and the popularity of the Coleman Milne product range yet we are aware that our good fortune is especially unique at a time of flux and uncertainty which has rendered others reluctant to invest.
All vehicle manufacturers are being tested on their ability to cater to changing environmental demands of the public and the government. There are now more than 15 authorities preparing to operate low emission zones (LEZ) across the UK – the largest of which is already in place in London – increasing the pressure on city centre businesses which can heavily affect funeral directors. This has caused mounting pressure to develop cleaner vehicles with alternative and renewable energy sources and, of course, maintain an affordability for customers. There is also a demand on these vehicles to look, feel and perform the same as a conventional vehicle (or even out-perform them). In addition to this is the roll-out of the Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) which has been designed to replace the old test system (NEDC).
Through continuous investment in our people, site and products, we are pleased to announce that a hybrid variant of the Norwood and Rosedale range will be on the road before the year is out. These additions to the Coleman Milne portfolio will stand out as the no-compromise option upholding our standards for style and quality and offering a pathway to a cleaner, greener future, one that has previously been impractical or unattainable for many funeral directors.
Non-Stop; Charge on the go
Our hybrid range is based on the Hybrid Ford Mondeo which twins a specifically designed, powerful 2-litre petrol engine with an advanced electric motor which is partially powered by an extra-light lithium-ion battery. The hybrid model paves the way for the best of both worlds: on longer journeys, the efficient petrol engine produced excellent economy; for shorter journeys, the electric engine comes into its own with regenerative breaking saving and recharging up to 90% of the energy which is usually lost on conventional vehicles.
Through the resilience and reliability of Coleman Milne during recessions, booms and numerous legislative changes, this latest innovation bolsters our commitment to the future whilst remaining devoted to the needs of our customers.
